OperationsInventory

Inventory by batch, lot and bin location

The system keeps quantity and value records by warehouse, batch, variant and lot. The valuation method (FIFO or monthly weighted average) is set in the accounting policy from a chosen date. Warehouse orders with bin locations are switched on per warehouse, and item codes come from the official Ukrainian classifiers UKT ZED (customs goods codes) and DKPP (products and services).

What is inside

  1. 01

FIFO or average, by accounting policy

The accounting policy sets the valuation method from a chosen date: FIFO or monthly weighted average. A batch keeps its FIFO age even after a transfer between warehouses, and markdowns and markups apply to a specific batch. The system does not post a document that would take stock below zero.

  2. 02

Warehouse orders from a set date, per warehouse

The warehouse order scheme is switched on from a date for each warehouse separately. Orders cover receiving, shipping and adjustments, and you choose the sequence: “order first” or “invoice first”. Operational stock by bin is kept apart from book stock, and a report shows the difference between them.

  3. 03

    Bin locations with reasons

The system generates putaway, picking and move tasks on its own. It chooses bins by putaway rules, storage areas and size classes, taking weight and volume into account. When a putaway fails, the system says why. Lots with a shelf life are picked so that the ones expiring soonest go first.

  4. 04

    Variants, lots and packaging

Stock and cost are kept separately by variant, such as colour and size, and by lot. Lots follow one of six tracking policies, including lot-level costing. Packaging forms a chain of box → pack → pallet: the system calculates the factor, and the document line keeps its value as of entry.

  5. 05

Stock counts closed to the last variance

A stock count captures book quantity together with variant and lot. Write-off and surplus documents are created from the variances, and the system tracks that every variance is closed.

  6. 06

    Items and official classifiers

Items sit in a folder tree, and the item type sets a settings template. Accounts are filled in by a cascade: item card → type → financial accounting group. UKT ZED and DKPP codes are picked from the official classifier. The system checks the source for updates daily and keeps previous editions, and the chosen code carries over to the VAT invoice (tax invoice).

Frequently asked questions

Does the system prevent negative stock?

Yes. A document that would take stock below zero is not posted.

Can we switch to warehouse orders mid-year?

Yes. The warehouse order scheme is switched on from a date, for each warehouse separately.

How can I tell that cost for a month is not calculated yet?

Reports flag such months explicitly. Cost is calculated in the month-end close.

Who sees cost in inventory reports?

Only users with a separate access right.
